How to talk with Maki
One page, your voice, and a 3D AI companion who answers out loud.
1. Open lapwing.live
Lapwing runs in your browser, so there is nothing to download or install. A laptop or desktop with a recent browser works best. Lapwing is in closed beta: you get in with an access code, or by joining the waitlist.
2. Press Talk to Maki and allow the microphone
Your browser will ask if Lapwing may use your microphone. Say yes, and Maki appears. She says hello first.
3. Just talk
There is no button to hold and nothing to type. Speak the way you would to a friend. Maki listens while you talk and answers out loud when you finish. If you want to cut in, just start talking; she stops and listens.
4. Watch her listen
Maki is a 3D character, so she is there with you on screen: she looks at you while you speak, looks away when she is thinking, and moves as she answers. Ask her to dance, wave or take a bow and she will.
